 Hemelum. The holiday accommodation has a rural view and is suitable for 6 till 8 persons. The village Hemelum (585 inhabitants) is located at the Morra, one of the Frisian lakes, and is situated between the Ijsselmeer (lake) and the wood of Gaasterland. The detached spacious accommodation is a theatre studio in winter and a holiday accommodation in summer. It has a rural location and you have a great panoramically view when you sit on your terrace. In the surroundings there are plenty of walking and cycling possibilities through the woody landscape of Gaasterland or along the many nice lakes. Woods, open fields, the Ijsselmeer coast and cities like Sloten, Stavoren, Hindeloopen and Workum offer enough relaxation and amusement nearby. You can rent bikes or boats in the surroundings to discover Friesland both per land and per water. There is a nice golf court nearby and a riding school and you can also watch or join typical Frisian sports like Fierljeppen or Skūtsjesilen. Along the Ijsselmeer coast there are recreation terrains with sand beaches. In the neighbouring village Rijs there is a playground for children and a open air theatre. Nearby the accommodation, in the village Bakhuizen, you will find a supermarket. The accommodation is smoke-free and pets are not allowed.
